I decided to design a rubrics for my research paper in phyiscal education. I used the website Rubistar to help me design it. It was very simple to use. You choose which task you will be grading and then fill in what you expect a score of 4,3,2,and 1 is. I beleive that rubrics are extremely important to have because it helps your students know exactly what to do to get a high score, and it helps you as the teacher to stay consistant with your grading. I will be using a rubrics in my class when I assign a research paper. I like to assign research papers at the beginning of a unit so that my students can do research on the topic which will help better their understanding. Teacher Name: Mr. Maddox

Resources: 1.http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/ 2. http://www.teachervision.fen.com/teaching-methods-and-management/rubrics/4521.html When I was designing my rubrics I found a couple of websites that really helped me a lot. The first website was had all the standards for California students. You could find the standards for any subject and any grade level. This can really help any teacher because it is important to know what the standards are to make sure that your students are performing at the right level. This website was extremely easy to use. All you had to do was select the subject and the grade level and it brought right there. It had all the standards. It is a great website! I will continue to use this website to help me design lesson plans because it helps me know the standards that I must be teaching. The second website that I used was very helpful to me while making my rubrics. This website again was very easy to use. You simply had to click what you wanted to learn about a rubrics and it brought you to the page with the information. I thought it was a great resource because it talked about the advantages of a rubrics, how to make a rubrics, how to weight a rubrics and explained different types of rubrics. I think this is a great resource for anyone who wants to learn more about rubrics. I will continue using this rubrics to help me design rubrics. I am in physical education and we do not usually grade papers, but this website really helped me learn what to grade and how to weight certain things.
Week 2 For this week I decided to look into blogging. I really think it is important for students to write down their thoughts and for the teacher to read them so that the teacher knows where the students are at and how they feel. It is also I great way for the teacher to assess the student's cognitive development. I would have my students write a blog each day about what the skill they learned, the cues taught, and how they felt during the class. They can also feel free to write anything else they want. I will then read their blogs to see if they are learning what I want them too and how they feel through out the lesson. Is it too hard too easy etc. The link below is an example of what a blog might look like in my class.
I used www.google.com/blogger to help me create my blog. It was very easy to do. All you had to do was sign up and create an account and then follow very simple steps. The first thing you have to do is create the name of the blog and then the template. After this you are good to go. You create a title and then write. You can get very creative with this and post pictures and designs if you want. I highly recommend this site if you want to create a blog.

I used this website to really help me learn how to blog. I have never blogged before and this website really helped. This website has it all. It had different links to learn about the basics, lingo, organization of blogs, how to start up a blog, the purposes of blogging, different activities you can do blogging, and how to assess blogs. This was a very easy website to use as well. The categories where listed clear and all you had to do was click on them and it sent you directly to the web page.

This website is AMAZING for a PE teacher. This website has lesson plans, unit plans, how to assess students. This website is a great resource page where you can find anything you need to teach a successful class. This is a great website that truely shows how great PE is and supports PE to the fullest. Very easy to use and find help. I recommend this for every Physical Educatoin teacher out there.
Week #3 For this week I decided to make a power point. I am not good using computers and I know that power point is used alot in classes, so I wanted to learn how to make a good one. I think I could use power point in my classes. I can assign students groups and have them create a power point on the sport/game we are learning and have them present it to thier classmates. I will make them do some research on the team/country they are representsing, maybe the rules of the game, and how that sport impacts the people around them. Here is an example of a power point that my students could do:
I could also use power point to introduce the rules and history of a sport on the first day of the unit.
http://www.sports-media.org/links/data/index.html This website is a great website to help Physical Education teachers plan for their units. It had just about every sports, game, and activity that I could think of. Great variety of activities. This website was extremely easy to use. You select the sport/game you want to learn more about and then it brings you to that page. From there you can find readings, lesson plans, diagrams, drills, etc. for that sport. Very helpful website for teachers who have to teach a sport/game that they do not really understand. This website can really help.
2. http://www.fifa.com/ This website is a great website that a teacher can use that is doing a soccer unit. This website shows many different subjects including: rankings, soccer news, rules, tournament results, etc. This is a great website to introduce to your students during a soccer unit for them to learn more about soccer.
Week #4 For this week i decided to look into instructional videos. Instructional videos can be very useful for teaching students specific skills. As a teacher I will assign my students to watch an instructional video the night before I teach the lesson. This will give my students some knowledge of the skill, so that they have a better understanding of it. This is also a good way to teach students because they can watch as many times as they want. If they do not understand it the first time they can rewind it. I think this is a great tool for physical education teachers and recommend it for every teacher. Below is an example that I would use if I was teaching dribbling in a soccer unit.
1. For my first resource that I used was Youtube. This is a great website for teachers to go and upload instructional videos to show to their students. These videos are extremely helpful because it is very assessable to students. It is a great idea to have students watch one of these videos before class, so when they get to class they all ready have some prior knowledge. This will help them to better their understanding and give them more time to practice, instead of instruction. This website is extremely easy to use all you do is type in what you are looking for and then pick a video you like. I have always used Youtube, but never imagined using it for class. I am now a big fan of it. 2. My next resource was a website. The website was http://pecentral.org/lessonideas/classroom/classroom.asp This is a great website for teachers that want to use physical activity to teacher other content areas. All you have to do is click on a content that you want to teach and then a bunch of lessons will appear. Look at the lessons until you find one that you like. Very easy to use and I found it very helpful. I really like to incorporate health, history, English, and nutrition in my classes and this website will help me plan for it.
